Dangote group set to change the narrative of petroleum refining in Nigeria.

The Dangote Refinery is a massive oil refinery project located in Lekki, Nigeria. Developed by the Dangote Group, it is one of the largest refineries in the world.

The refinery is designed to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day, making it a significant contributor to Nigeria’s domestic oil refining capacity.

The Dangote Refinery aims to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported refined petroleum products and boost the country’s self-sufficiency in meeting its energy needs. The project encompasses not only the refinery but also associated infrastructure such as pipelines, storage tanks, and a jetty for crude oil import and product export.

Besides its scale, the Dangote Refinery stands out for its integration with petrochemical and fertilizer units, which will enable the production of various products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, polypropylene, and urea fertilizers. This integration is expected to create additional value and drive economic growth in Nigeria.

Once operational, the Dangote Refinery will play a crucial role in transforming Nigeria’s energy landscape and position the country as a regional hub for petroleum refining and related industries. Top officials in Nigeria and across the continent of Africa and beyond gathered at the premises at Lekki Free Zone, Lagos State, Nigeria to witness the commemoration of this epic event. It is expected that the plant will operate with a capacity of refining over 103.34m Liters of petroleum daily.
